Technical Improvements in Neurosurgery

This homepage is though to be a platform for researchers all over the world to get in touch with each other an to discuss topics in the field of Neuroscience.

We are looking forward to get in touch with you!

This site is under permanent construction!

Our clinical interest is devided into:

Functional Neuroimaging of the Humann Brain and Neuronavigation intraoperatively

Neurovascular compression syndromes and neurosurgical therapy

Functional Neuroimaging
We use functional MRI to map cortical brain areas that are responsible motor function, sensory preception and higher cognitive function. We examine our patients preoperatively to localize these regions and integrate the data in a navigation device intraoperatively. We use fMRI in brain tumor adjacent to the central region as a clinical routine. This technique improves neurosurgical operations and postoperative deficits can be avoided.

Neurovascular Compression syndromes
Neurovascular compression syndromes (NVC) are caused by the compression of the brain stem at the cranial nerve entry zones.
Syndromes:
Trigeminal neuralgia
Hemifacial spasm
Glossopharyngeal neuralgia
Malignant Hypertension
